Poker for donks is an irreverent celebration of donkedness in all its manifestations. As a ten year survivor of the donked world of on-line and ‘Brick and Mortar” poker games, despite being a full-fledged donk myself. I will teach you to love and nurture the donk; to discover your inner donk. Finally, I develop a system of play tailored to the donk! (sorry this is still in beta. It will be up real soon. honest). Look for regular features like “The donked hand of the moment” and articles dissecting and analyzing donks. Most importantly, click on those poker site link thingies and use the poker for donks bonus code!
Greetings! This is David Enoch
Greetings! If you haven’t met me yet or have lost track of me over the years, I have derived nearly all my income, over the last ten years, as a poker professional. Now, I’m expanding my job title from poker player to poker player, theoretician, promoter, educator and blogger.
I live with my wonderful partner, Elisabeth who I refer to as “Boonskee” and our three dogs in a quaint little cabin-like house in the woods, just over the Oakland hills, in the San Fransisco Bay area. We are surrounded by three spectacular parks. While Boonskee, slaves over a hot computer in the city, I stay home and try to keep the doggies out of trouble and work on the computer.
These days, I’m focusing my energy on mastering no limit multi-table on line holdem tournaments. For you non poker players, I won’t bother you with the details (for that, see my poker blog).. Suffice it to say that going from brick and mortar card rooms to multiple virtual tables; from cash game to tournament and from limit (fixed amount is bet with three or four raise limit on each street) to no limit (you can bet as much as you have in front of you); is a challenging transition!
I am nowsplitting my time up between playing studying and writing/blogging as opposed to just putting in a 40 hour week of play. While I learn an slowly implement phases of my strategy, I am playing in limits that are too small to derive the kind of income that I am used to and that I expect to generate, but , I am already at a slightly better than break even level so it’s nice to make a little money while you learn!
I’m also working on my poker memoirs, which I’m calling, One Long Game and a new poker entertainment and educational site, Poker for Donks.
I have grown quite fond of surfing the net and posting the best articles to my facebook wall. My home page blog is going to be a reflection of my facebook status updates and tweets. Sometimes I am pretty apolitical. Other times I get pretty fired up. I intend to utilize this space as my own little soap box. Sometime in the near future expect to see some musings, talking points, rantings, strategy ideas, action alerts, etc. Also I plan to put up a nice profile page soon. I am a world class procrastinator so don’t hold your breath!
Potmo to Speak About Poker!
I have been invited to speak about my experiences in the world of poker in Raleigh, NC at Burning Coal Theaters’ “lobby lecture series”, preceding a play involving a poker game entitled, The Seafarer by Irish playwright Conor McPherson on February 20th. Not only are they paying my air fare and hotel, I am getting a stipend as well! It’s official, I’m no longer just a poker player.
Holy Shit! I’m turning 50
Though it is still not official, I am heavily favored to make it to my 50 yr old birthday on Feb 24th of this (yikes!) year. Since this is such a special birthday, I’ve decided I’ll celebrate all year long.
